Job Summary

Centrum Surgery Center is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to support our team in providing exceptional patient care. This role involves performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician or nurse manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting patients, responding to their needs, and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Coordinate patient flow by moving patients through appointments as scheduled and escorting them around the facility.
  • Take vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report them to the assigned nurse.
  • Confirm patient information prior to interventions and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist nursing staff with cleaning and stocking clinical areas with medical supplies.
  • Respond to requests for information and ensure the completeness and accuracy of all documentation.
  • Report statistics as required and use downtime efficiently to assist team members.
  • Protect patient and family privacy rights and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
  • Follow all safety rules and report accidents promptly.
  • Assist staff in preop and pacu under the direct supervision of an RN.
  • Prepare and ensure availability of patient stretchers to maintain consistent workflow.
  • Assist in positioning/moving patients throughout the surgical process.
  • Travel to other facilities as necessary.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an acute care setting.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
