Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at PIH Health. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care under the direction of a qualified Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, utilizing correct body mechanics and adhering to established protocols.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to address biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs.
  • Treat a variety of diagnoses, including infants, children, adults, and older adults, with consideration to age and individual needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • Licensed as a physical therapist assistant in California, or eligible to take the examination for licensure in the State of California, with PTA license applicant document on file.
  • At least two years of experience in a home health agency, acute care facility, or outpatient clinic, preferably.
  • Current California physical therapist assistant license.
  • CPR certification.
  • Current driver's license and valid auto insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft products.
  • Ability to perform patient care utilizing correct body mechanics.
  • With consideration to age, employee utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patient/significant others when administering care.
  • Competent to treat a variety of diagnoses for patients who may be infants, children, adults, or older adults.
  • CPR certification.
