As a key member of our organizing team, you will work closely with community groups, partners, and funders to build a powerful statewide and regional network for environmental health and justice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community organizing strategies to address environmental health and justice issues in Vermont and New Hampshire.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, partners, and funders to advance our mission.
  • Coordinate and facilitate community organizing workshops, leadership development, and campaign planning.
  • Develop and implement creative strategies to protect health and environment, particularly in Black, Indigenous, and poor communities and communities of color.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to increase Slingshot's media presence and online organizing.
  • Cultivate relationships with local foundations and grassroots donors to support our work.

Requirements:

  • At least three years of related work experience in community organizing or grassroots campaign coordination.
  • Experience living in or working with people in frontline communities, especially people of color, Indigenous communities, immigrants, and low-income people.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a passion for building new relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and effective facilitation skills.
  • Experience with leadership development, campaign planning, and grassroots fundraising.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of $58,000 - $65,000, depending on experience.
  • An extensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, retirement savings plan, vacation, sick time, holidays, and Fridays off during the summer.
