Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer - Low Voltage Power Distribution to join our Federal Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will provide infrastructure engineering support for various projects, including design, coordination, and documentation of low voltage power distribution systems.
Responsibilities:- Design low voltage power distribution systems, including single line diagrams and wiring diagrams.
- Coordinate design with other disciplines, such as civil, architectural, mechanical, and structural.
- Prepare accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and other materials.
- Complete various assignments, such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
- Prepare standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Prepare detailed requisitions for low voltage equipment and materials.
- Size conduit, conductors, and overcurrent protection devices per the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Review supplier drawing submittals and assist in performing technical bid analyses.
- Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
- 8+ years of electrical design related experience in low voltage power distribution systems, data center design, power quality analysis, lighting systems, grounding, lightning protection, and Uninterruptible Power Sources (UPS).
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within budgeted hours and schedule.
- Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies.
- Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications.
- Familiar with construction practices and safe work procedures.
- Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization to find mutually beneficial solutions.
