Emergency Department Registered Nurse

The RN Clinical Nurse – Emergency Department is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department environment. As a registered nurse with Wellstar Health System, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients.
Responsibilities- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
- Perform the nursing process, using evidence-based practice and analytical thinking to ensure individualized care.
- Provide relationship-based patient-centered care, adapting service delivery to reflect cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others to set and achieve goals, using effective communication methods.
- Practice using current clinical practice standards.
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Coordinate safe, quality patient care, promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Participate in performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities.
- Professional Development and Initiative
- Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, modeling the professional practice of nursing.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.
- Participate in activities such as value analysis, evaluating patient care products.
- Uphold health care system/organizational policies and procedures, clinical competencies, and professional association standards.
- Resources and Support
- Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum, giving direct patient care.
- Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
- Education
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
- Required Bachelor's Degree: Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- License(s) and Certification(s)
- Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact.
- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional.
- Pediatric Adv Life Support-Preferred or PALS - Instructor-Preferred or PALS - Provisional-Preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years RN experience.
- Skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English language.
- Optimize the use of technology to support clinical care.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills, and customer service skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills.
