Sanitarian Specialist

The Town of Brookline is seeking a highly skilled Sanitarian Specialist to join our team. As a Sanitarian Specialist, you will be responsible for enforcing health and safety codes, protecting the environment, and controlling disease. This role requires a strong understanding of public health principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to public health and safety
• Investigate food-borne illness outbreaks and inspect food service establishments
• Respond to complaints about unsanitary conditions and environments
• Conduct plan reviews and inspections of swimming pools, children's camps, and other facilities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in public or environmental health science, or a related field
• Two years of related experience in public health or environmental health
• Eligibility to become a registered Sanitarian in Massachusetts
