Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, completing paperwork and patient charting, and delegating tasks and care to appropriate staff. You will also be responsible for facilitating learning for patients and families, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient care needs and develop individualized plans of care
  • Complete paperwork and patient charting in a timely and accurate manner
  • Delegate tasks and care to appropriate staff members
  • Facilitate learning for patients and families, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives
  • Provide care for patients utilizing fetal and maternal monitoring equipment
  • Manage patients' pain, including epidural and patient-controlled analgesia administration
  • Assist physicians during delivery, treatment, examination, and surgical procedures
  • Provide patient and family education on labor, pain, and newborn care
Requirements:
  • 1+ year of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
  • Unencumbered Texas or Compact RN license required
  • Nicotine-free
  • BLS required
