Position Overview:
As a Clinical Forensic Psychiatrist, you will engage in the comprehensive evaluation and management of individuals presenting with intricate medical and psychiatric conditions. Your role will encompass the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric inpatients, guiding multidisciplinary treatment teams, and conducting thorough psychiatric-legal assessments and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and provide treatment for patients with diverse psychiatric disorders.
- Supervise and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Document admissions, mental status, and treatment plans in accordance with established protocols.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and therapeutic interventions based on individual patient needs.
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and services as necessary.
- Participate in the development of treatment programs tailored to patient requirements.
- Engage in continuous education and training for staff and contribute to hospital policy discussions.
- Maintain effective communication with community healthcare providers and mental health resources.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with a completed residency in psychiatry.
- Active medical license or eligibility for licensure in the relevant state.
