Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to oversee the execution of our construction retrofit projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful project management and a deep understanding of construction methods and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the profitable execution of assigned projects, ensuring they progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop and adhere to a Project Execution Plan for each assigned project, scheduling key deliverables and milestones.
  • Plan, schedule, and control project activities, utilizing resource planning techniques to gain high productivity from team members.
  • Self-perform cost estimating and cost reviews of assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  • Provide leadership by demonstrating focus on exceeding customers' expectations, fostering good working relationships with subcontractors and internal partners.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial, local, and federal legal requirements, championing and driving the Company Safety Program for employees and subcontractors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Construction Manager, with broad knowledge of commercial/contractual complexity/deal structure/financial acumen.
  • Deep understanding of construction management methods and processes, advanced knowledge of construction methods, building products, and building codes.
  • Strong leadership and crisis resolution skills, proficient in Project Management software (MS Projects, E-Builder, etc) and financial accounting systems.
  • Ability to break large projects into small steps, with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • LEED certification or PMP Certification.
