About the Role

At BlueHalo, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Reverse Engineer to join our team of experts in malware analysis and cybersecurity. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of malware and other cyber threats to identify vulnerabilities and develop effective mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct reverse engineering of malware and other cyber threats using tools such as IDAPro/Ghidra and dynamic analysis with tools such as x64dbg, OllyDbg, Immunity, and gdb.
  • Deconstruct custom network protocols and develop a deep understanding of their inner workings.
  • Set up and work within virtual environments using VMWare or VirtualBox to simulate real-world scenarios.
  • Develop and implement malware rules and signatures for SNORT or Yara to enhance our cybersecurity defenses.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in virtual environments and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Experience with conducting malware analysis and a deep understanding of malware behavior.
  • Experience with software development languages such as Python, C, and C++.
  • Experience working with OS Internals (Windows, Unix/Linux) and a strong understanding of operating system security.
  • Experience working with the following tool sets: IDA Pro/Ghidra, VMware (Workstation, VSphere), Microsoft Windows, and x64dbg, gdb.
  • Understanding of techniques to include unpacking, de-obfuscation, and anti-debugging.
  • Understanding of standard and custom network protocols.
  • This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain an active federal security clearance, TS/SCI clearance with a poly is required.
