Key Responsibilities:- Maintain expertise on multiple degrees, course offerings, and academic standards in collaboration with faculty and staff liaisons.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming students and their families, ensuring a smooth transition to the institution.
- Provide holistic professional and personal support to advisees, focusing on academic planning, exploration, goal setting, personal growth, and pathways to degree completion.
- Manage and monitor early alert systems to create and implement intervention strategies and resolve student issues.
- Collaborate with support staff to connect students with services such as counseling, career services, tutoring, and financial aid.
- Facilitate formal connections to new faculty advisors for upper-level advising.
- Participate in University and College committees to support recruitment, persistence, and graduation initiatives.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Dean's and Registrar's Offices to stay informed about policies and procedures.
- Utilize assessment to determine advising program strengths and areas for improvement.
- Master's degree in higher education, counseling, or a related field (or a bachelor's degree with at least three years of academic advising experience).
- Experience with student information systems, data analysis, and best practices in student success.
- Excellent time management, organization, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- High level of detail orientation and commitment to students with diverse backgrounds.
- Team-oriented personality and ability to empathetically build rapport with students.
