At the University of Maryland Medical System, we are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist-Prn to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care.
Job SummaryThe MRI Technologist-Prn will be responsible for performing a variety of MRI procedures, verifying patient identity, and reviewing requisitions for consistency. You will also assess patient condition, ensure patient safety, and implement physician orders. Additionally, you will process patients through the Meditech system, recommend expense control initiatives, and participate in the education of students.
Responsibilities- Perform MRI procedures to ensure quality and continuity of patient care.
- Verify patient identity and review requisitions for consistency.
- Assess patient condition and ensure patient safety.

- Recommend expense control initiatives and participate in student education.
- Properly mark and identify MRI scans, transfer images, and report safety hazards.
- Maintain proper stocking and cleanliness of MRI rooms.
- Participate in the MRI Section On-Call schedule.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with departmental staff, hospital staff, patients, families, physicians, and hospital visitors.
We are seeking a graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology School, registered by the ARRT, and licensed by the state of Maryland. Up to one year of radiographic and one month of MRI experience following graduation is preferred.
