Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university
  • A current license and/or registration in the state
Job Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  1. Providing comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
  2. Assisting with patient identification and referral to rehabilitation
  3. Documenting patient progress and participation in a timely and accurate manner
  4. Ensuring MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges
  5. Assisting with other documentation requirements as indicated
  6. Attending facility and rehabilitation meetings as needed
  7. Acting as a rehabilitation delegate to the interdisciplinary team
  8. Participating in patient scheduling as needed
  9. Completing billing and billing patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered
  10. Covering other therapists' patient caseload during absence as necessary
  11. Supervising junior PTA staff members or students as needed
  12. Maintaining professional relationships with coworkers, facility staff, patients, and patient families
  13. Providing in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services to rehabilitation staff, facility staff, hospitals, and/or community as needed
  14. Complying with all facility safety policies and procedures
  15. Complying with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights
  16. Reporting to work on time, adhering to scheduled hours, and projecting a professional image at all times
  17. Adhering to productivity requirements
  18. Maintaining a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner
  19. Performing all other duties assigned by the department Supervisor, Lead Therapist, or Regional Manager
  20. Complying with all Facility policies re: lunch, sick, and time off notification
