Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Steel Fabrication Coordinator to join our team at Nesco Resource. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of steel fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist higher-level project managers in coordinating plans and directing activities of designated projects to ensure timely completion within cost parameters.
  • Prepare and coordinate complete estimates on med-small projects as required by client documents.
  • Generate part drawings, shop drawings, and field layouts instructions to facilitate fabrication and erection of the steel framework in a timely manner.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing all aspects of projects, including reviewing project proposals or plans to determine timelines, cost limitations, and procedures for accomplishing projects.
  • Establish job system flow chains of events using Microsoft Project software.
  • Attend job meetings with General Contractors and assist in establishing working plans for each phase of the project.
  • Possess an entry-level ability to manage projects through the shop and/or through subcontracted shops.
  • Coordinate and direct activities of the project to ensure progress according to established milestones and within prescribed cost guidelines.
Estimator Section:
  • Assist the Estimating Manager in preparing and coordinating full estimates on large and complex projects as required by client documents.
  • Prepare take-offs for quoting using Tekla EPM, Excel spreadsheets, 3D modeling software, or handwritten notes.
Detailer Section:
  • Assist the Detailing Manager in creating 3D models, part drawings, assembly drawings, and layouts for shop fabrication and field installation.
  • Possess an entry-level ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required if zero related experience.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required with 2-5 years of related experience.
Estimated Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
