Position Overview
The Clinical Nurse II role is essential for our Children's Specialty Clinic, dedicated to delivering exceptional care across various surgical and medical specialties for patients from infancy to adolescence.
Work Schedule: Flexible shifts from 7 AM to 5 PM, including 3-4 late shifts within a 6-week rotation.
Operational Hours: 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:
- Education: Engage in identifying personal learning needs and participate in relevant educational programs. Utilize patient education materials tailored to the specific patient demographic and assess their readiness to learn.
- Care Evaluation: Establish expected patient outcomes and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and adjust care plans as necessary, ensuring effective communication for continuity of care.
- Implementation: Exhibit proficiency in managing patients with intricate health issues, addressing their physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs. Conduct bedside testing as needed and adhere to established nursing standards and protocols.
- Leadership: Set professional development goals and actively participate in unit objectives and performance improvement initiatives. Foster collaboration across departments and promote a safe and secure healthcare environment.
- Patient Assessment: Analyze complex data to prioritize care, considering the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families. Build supportive relationships that empower families to advocate for their needs.
- Care Planning: Collaborate with patients and families to create or update care plans, incorporating multidisciplinary resources and addressing cultural considerations.
- Research: Stay informed by reviewing relevant literature and sharing insights with colleagues to enhance practice.
Additional Information:
Educational Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• If hired post-January 6, 2014, enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Nursing is required within four years of employment.
Licensure/Certification:
• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is mandatory.
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
