Job Summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist Level II to join our team in Malden, Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform blood-drawing procedures to obtain specimens from patients of all ages, including immunosuppressed, late-stage cancer, and morbidly obese individuals.
  • Identify and label specimens accurately, following department policies and procedures.
  • Develop relationships with patients to alleviate fears and anxieties during the venipuncture procedure.
  • Provide phlebotomy training, product evaluation, and new application implementation as requested.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Two years of experience as a BWH phlebotomist with a performance evaluation score of effective or above.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of proper aseptic techniques to prevent injury to self and patients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods, transport supplies and specimens as required.
