The Custodial Services Associate is tasked with executing a range of general cleaning responsibilities across various areas to uphold the community in a hygienic, safe, appealing, and organized state.
Work hours for this role are from 8 AM to 4 PM, five days a week, with alternating weekends off.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Cleaning Duties Include:
Receiving assignments from the supervisor and adhering to the cleaning schedule as outlined for the custodial department, which includes cleaning offices, resident rooms, restrooms for both visitors and individuals with disabilities, activity rooms, kitchen restrooms, service entrances, therapy rooms, and other common areas.
Conducting emergency cleaning as necessary, dusting, washing, and disinfecting all fixtures, floors, walls, doors, and ceilings as required. Polishing water fountains, sinks, mirrors, and glass panels in doors and partitions, as well as brass and both movable and stationary furnishings.
Changing slipcovers, scarves, and doilies when soiled, and arranging furniture and equipment in an orderly manner. Cleaning ledges, shelves, vents, windows, and window sills.
Removing and re-hanging curtains, drapes, and dividers for cleaning when necessary. Replenishing soap and towel supplies in designated areas. Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles.
Collaborating with personnel/services on floors in resident rooms, baths, lounges, nurses' stations, and offices as assigned. Overseeing terminal cleaning duties in resident rooms according to established procedures when a resident has been discharged or transferred, preparing rooms for new occupants.
Managing cleaning duties in isolation units as required when a resident is transferred, following established protocols. Vacuuming and shampooing all carpets and rugs, ensuring small rugs are laundered. Assisting in the quarterly inventory process for all special care units.
Adhering to all safety and security guidelines, procedures, and protocols for residents in the unit.
Performing any other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Experience:
Six (6) months to one (1) year of relevant experience preferred.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills are required.
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak the English language. Must be capable of operating basic housekeeping equipment and supplies. Must work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff, elderly residents, families, and healthcare personnel.
