Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Join Tervis, a leading manufacturer of insulated drinkware, as an Assistant Store Manager in our flagship store in Osprey, FL. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store, achieving performance objectives, and developing new business opportunities to increase brand awareness and sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage store budget and sales data, promoting corporate sales and tracking employee incentive sales.
  • Monitor daily/weekly/monthly sales, meeting with the Store Manager to adjust as needed, and motivating the sales team to increase sales.
  • Respond to customer complaints and comments, reviewing daily closing reports, and ensuring accuracy.
  • Utilize suggestive selling and up-selling techniques, coaching employees on these techniques, and supporting the generation of new customer business opportunities.
  • Assist the Store Manager with interviewing potential staff, providing training, and ensuring quality, customer service, health, safety, legal, and security standards are met.
  • Partner with the Store Manager on coaching and counseling staff performance, documenting issues and consequences, and assisting with appraisals and performance reviews.
  • Manage payroll budget, schedule staff to achieve optimum coverage, and review employee time cards when necessary.
  • Monitor daily inventory replenishment needs, plan seasonal inventory needs, manage inventory, track inventory turns by item, and advise the Store Manager on all accounting issues.
  • Track returns by month and monitor local Ads, giving feedback to Marketing.
Requirements:
  • Goal-oriented, strong attention to detail, and talented at developing people.
  • Ability to work with all departments to drive the business.
  • Full-time position may exceed 40 hours per week, depending on business needs.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Requires extended standing, bending, stooping, and overhead reaching.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Knowledgeable in cash register, POS systems, and ticketing procedures.
