Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures with precision and accuracy.
  • Analyze results and identify issues with image quality, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review patient history and physician orders, educating patients on procedures and equipment as necessary.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice, monitoring patient condition and reporting changes as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment, troubleshooting and resolving issues as necessary.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or relevant experience and education as determined by the company.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Sonography-RT(S) or Vascular Sonography-RT(VS) certification and registration via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or equivalent.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior sonography experience.
