Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant Surgery Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals. This role is responsible for providing advanced medical support to our surgical teams, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient department operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently perform advanced medical assistant duties, including coordination of patient care and navigation.
  • Manage patient flow and facilitate unit operations, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and department efficiency.
  • Collaborate with managers to ensure compliance with all policies and standards, including protected health information (PHI) management.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and certification by a national exam.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Able to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting, with occasional climbing and balancing. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities is essential.
