We are seeking a highly skilled Space Domain Software Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a key member of our small dynamic team, you will be responsible for developing ground system software, supporting mission operations, and interfacing with customers and end users to tackle complex design challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Develop software systems, modules, and system enhancements using established software engineering processes
Complete detailed design and development work for individual software components and integrate the developed products together
Follow software engineering standards and assist engineers in software system or module development and documentation efforts
Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and automated testing
Implement Agile development tools to manage work and collaborate with teams
Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission-critical software source code using modern software development languages and tools
Identify potential roadblocks and develop software solutions that consider the customer first

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Software or Computer Engineering and 4-8 years applicable experience
Ability to code in C, C, Java, and Python
Familiarity with source code control, bug tracking, and task management tools
Development experience in space systems, with a strong preference for payload experience such as IR sensors
Experience working with STK and Matlab
Experience with space mission operations, planning, and/or phenomenology
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required)
Ability and willingness to work onsite in San Diego, California

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with adaptive signal processing and applied mathematics
Experience in the SBIRS operational ecosphere a strong plus
Current and active DoD Secret clearance
Willing to obtain a Top Secret clearance
