Job SummaryWe are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist PRN to join our team at St. Anthony North Health Campus. As a Surgical Tech, you will work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN, assisting with operative procedures, preparing and moving patients, and sterilizing and cleaning instruments and equipment.
Responsibilities- Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical cases.
- Pass items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
- Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment, and rooms.
- Scrub on all cases.
- Ortho heavy Dept. totals/trauma/sports Medicine. Spine, Ortho Spine w/navigation, Podiatry, Plastics, Endo, Cysto, Urology, GI, Robotics (DaVinci XI/MAKO), Gen, ENT, Hands GYN, Urology.
- Associates are cross-trained for all services, no specialized service Teams.
- Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
- Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next days cases.
- Maintain Sterile field during procedures.
- Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeons needs.
- Maintaining and updating preference cards.
- Basic Computer skills required.
- One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
- Experience in a specialty field preferred.
- HS Diploma/GED required.
- Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required.
- BLS from the American Heart Association required.
- Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado.
- Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required.
