Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will have a strong background in marine science, biology, or a related field, and will be responsible for conducting research in the area of sediment ecology and biomechanics.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in sediment ecology and biomechanics, including experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement research projects.
  • Participate in fieldwork and laboratory experiments.
  • Mentor students and contribute to the development of research proposals.
Requirements:
  • PhD in marine science, biology, or a related field.
  • Strong background in sediment ecology and biomechanics.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with invertebrates and laboratory experiments.
  • Programming experience.
  • Background in creative writing or arts.
Working Conditions:
  • May work in all weather conditions.
  • May work in remote marine or estuarine field sites.
  • May participate in extended research cruises.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $59,000 per year, plus benefits.
