About the Role

BCforward is seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer to join our team on a contract basis. As a Technical Designer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the technical design team in partnering with design and merchant teams, as well as other cross-functional associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Design Expertise: Provide technical design expertise and support to the design team, ensuring the development of high-quality garments that meet the client's requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster open communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, merchant, and production teams, to ensure seamless product development and production.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all garments meet the required quality standards, including fit, construction, and material quality.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical design issues and problems, providing solutions and recommendations to improve product quality and efficiency.
  • Project Management: Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge and expertise with the design team, providing training and support to ensure that all team members are equipped to handle technical design tasks.
Requirements
  • Technical Education: A degree in garment fit and construction or equivalent work experience.
  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the fashion industry, with at least 2-3 years of experience in intimate apparel.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in product development technical specification programs (PDM, PLM, etc.) and 3D software (Clo3D, Browzwear, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
