KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement educational programs in accordance with established guidelines, fostering curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Design and execute daily lesson plans and activities tailored to children's developmental needs.
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and field excursions.
  • Conduct systematic observations and assessments of each child's progress.
  • Facilitate communication skills through verbal and nonverbal interactions.
  • Engage in parent meetings to maintain positive relationships and provide updates on child development.
  • Maintain a welcoming and responsive environment for children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Enforce safety protocols and document any incidents or injuries appropriately.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality; actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Adapt to working with various age groups and shift between classrooms as necessary.
  • Keep accurate records and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Support the overarching mission and objectives of Apple Tree Kids.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or equivalent credentials.
  • Minimum of six months of relevant experience in a supervised childcare setting.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Completion of CPR, First Aid, and other required training within the first month of employment.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must pass a TB test and background checks.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience in lesson planning.
  • Ability to connect with diverse populations and communicate effectively.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The following physical demands are essential for this position:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and engage in physical activities with children.
  • Capability to sit on the floor and rise easily.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Participation in active games for extended periods.
  • Visual and auditory acuity for monitoring children's safety.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Supervise children independently at all times.
