About the Role

Ripple Effect is seeking a highly skilled Data Science and Modeling Manager to lead our data-driven projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of data science techniques and evaluation methodologies to support our clients' missions at NIH and other science- and health-based agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage data science projects, ensuring technical soundness and relevance in support of government contracts.
  • Provide technical advice on methodology approaches and develop detailed project plans to track progress and manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Supervise and mentor cross-disciplinary teams of data scientist specialists and enhance team operations through the development and implementation of streamlined processes.
  • Extract and transform raw data from multiple sources into meaningful and actionable insights, ensuring data quality and integrity by implementing robust data validation, cleaning processes, and best practices for data management.
  • Design and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems and generate insights from large and complex data sets.
  • Develop training materials and co-lead training events, as well as develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and other related process documentation.
  • Develop client reports using aggregated data and track and process progress reports using an electronic database.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, or other relevant field.
  • 10 years relevant work experience, including at least 4 years of those years in a social or biomedical science related field.
  • Experience developing data-driven insights and visualizations that clearly convey complex concepts and conclusions.
  • Strong understanding and proven experience with AI, statistical and machine learning techniques, and other emerging technologies to enhance analytical conclusions.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Data Scientist, with a focus on data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
  • Proficient in coding languages such as Python or R, data manipulation tools like SQL, and cloud platforms like Azure.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in relevant field.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience leading NIH projects.
  • Established networks in government contracting that can be leveraged.
  • Certifications and demonstrated coursework in data science techniques.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other certifications.
