Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Generate precise and detailed cost estimates by analyzing project blueprints, specifications, and scope. Employ advanced estimating software to compile comprehensive assessments of labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Design Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of design documents and preliminary plans to identify potential scope gaps and value alternatives, ensuring accurate pricing and addressing escalation concerns.
  • Budget Development: Assist in formulating initial budgetary guidelines for clients, utilizing historical data to create square footage budgets.
  • Project Documentation Review: Perform in-depth reviews of contracts and drawings to uncover potential cost impacts and risks, providing actionable insights to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Supplier Coordination: Solicit and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgetary limits.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma is required; additional qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or Finance are advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., McCormick) and Microsoft Office, along with a strong grasp of cost estimation methodologies and construction practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical capabilities with a detail-oriented approach, including the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and adhere to tight deadlines.
