Job Title: Athletic Trainer

Chenega Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in providing medical support to our military personnel, ensuring their readiness and performance in various physical activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical screenings and assessments to identify potential health risks and develop strategies to prevent injuries.
  • Provide medical care and treatment to injured personnel, including emergency first aid and immediate treatment for soft-tissue injuries.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs to reduce the risk of injury and improve overall performance.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for our military personnel.
  • Document all medical encounters and treatment plans in the electronic health record.
  • Participate in peer review and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality care and services.
  • Provide education and training to military personnel on injury prevention and performance enhancement techniques.
  • Coordinate with unit leaders and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of athletic training services into military operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC).
  • Current, active, valid license to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the state where the work will be performed.
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience as an Athletic Trainer, preferably in a military or sports medicine setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with military personnel, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address health risks and performance issues.
  • Ability to operate a computer and utilize Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and EHR systems.
  • Physical ability to hike in austere environments and lift up to 45 pounds.
Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
