About the Position:

This role is part of the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, Office of Chief Counsel, focusing on providing legal support to the Cyber Directorate at Quantico, VA.

Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a legal advisor for DACID, prioritizing legal support to the National Security Law (NSL) Section.
  2. Provide advice and assistance on the development of training and informational programs related to computer crime and computer security.
  3. Conduct research for cases pending trial, drafting motions and specifications, and assisting in agent expert witness testimony preparation.
  4. Represent the DACID as a legal representative and provide advice on the development of training and informational programs aimed at DACID investigative field elements.
Requirements:

Applicants must possess a first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and be a member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia.

Applicants for initial appointment into attorney positions within the Department of Army must be graduates of law schools accredited by the American Bar Association at the time of the applicant's graduation.

Applicants must currently be a member in good standing (as defined by the pertinent bar) of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. territory, the District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Applicants for the GS-14 or equivalent Attorney positions must also possess 3 years of professional legal experience, acquired after being admitted to the bar, commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Additional Information:

Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be authorized. Student loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiations, including an advanced in hire, for candidates new to Federal service or who would otherwise qualified, may be authorized.
