Spire Fellowship Overview

The State of Nebraska is seeking a recent law-school graduate for the Spire Fellowship. This prestigious opportunity is named after former Attorney General, Nebraska Bar Association President, and philanthropist Robert M. Spire. The Fellowship provides young, motivated lawyers with hands-on experience in the Office of the Solicitor General.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside attorneys in the Office of the Solicitor General, including briefing and potentially arguing appeals.
  • Provide legal advice to the Attorney General and draft formal opinions.
  • Assist with multi-state litigation and research complex legal problems.

Requirements
  • Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Excellent legal writing skills and judgment.
  • Fewer than five years of legal experience.
