Family Medicine Physician Opportunity

Lexington Medical Center is seeking a Board Certified Family Medicine physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine to join our Graduate Medical Education program in West Columbia, SC.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to devote a significant portion of your effort to resident education and providing assistance to the FM Program Director in the development, leadership, supervision, and ongoing maintenance of the residency program.

Responsibilities
  • Administrative duties related to residency training, including providing feedback and written evaluation on the performance of residents, assisting the Program Director in recruitment and orientation, and leadership of faculty, staff, and residents.
  • Professional development duties, including completing professional and faculty development, participating in scholarly projects, and completing quality/practice improvement projects annually with residents.
  • Serving as an advisor and role model to residents and staff, fostering professionalism, quality, and patient safety, and promoting well-being, education goal-setting, career planning, scholarship, and patient care.
Clinical Care
  • Promoting family medicine/musculoskeletal care in the outpatient setting.
  • Complying with local, state, and federal regulations regarding documentation, coding, billing, and collections, referrals, and other clinical practice regulations.
  • Call commensurate with other faculty providers.

Lexington Medical Center's Family Medicine Residency Program welcomed its first class of 13 residents in July 2023. Our state-of-the-art GME building provides a full range of practice, including family medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, internal medicine, and transitional year, as well as resident work and wellness spaces.
