Job Description

Job Summary:

The Director of Network Operations Center for Undersea Systems is responsible for establishing, managing, and expanding a best-in-class Network Operations Center (NOC) Services for SubCom, a leading provider of subsea fiber optic data cables. The Director will maintain business relationships with customers, assist the NOC Manager with operational needs, and lead the NOC reporting of service impacting events and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Operational Excellence: Develop and implement innovative solutions to ensure operational excellence, best-in-class customer service, and continual process improvement.
  • Liaison with NOC Manager: Collaborate with the NOC Manager to ensure NOC Engineers maintain optimized performance of customer networks, coordinating maintenance, repair, and system provisioning efforts.
  • Host Operational Meetings: Host meetings for PNOC contracted undersea systems to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Reporting and Communication: Ensure timely submission of PNOC Monthly Reports to customers and provide NOC Weekly Reports to the VP of Customer Solutions.
  • Policy Implementation: Liaise with the NOC Manager to ensure operation management policies, standards, and procedures are properly implemented, enhanced, and maintained.
  • New Contract Review: Direct new NOC contract review and execute internal processes with customers and SubCom.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with the NOC Manager and NOC Associate Security Officer to ensure all operating processes meet regulatory compliance and contractual obligations.
  • Market Expansion: Market and expand NOC Services, where applicable.
  • Integrity and Ethics: Ensure business is conducted with integrity, aligning with SubCom policies, procedures, and core values.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree required, preferably with a technical Master's Degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in undersea systems in a supervisory or management technical role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience and technical knowledge of data networking.
  • Soft Skills: Competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management, results focus, and inspirational leadership.
  • Customer Service: Ability to deliver sustained high performance and high levels of customer satisfaction, with experience serving international customers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex technical information and risk to all levels of internal and external organizations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical ability, with a focus on metrics-driven decision making.
  • Team Management: Team building, mentoring, and coaching skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and with differing levels of management.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and other languages a plus.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidential information and communications.
