Job Title: Dentist

At Total Health Care (MD), we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dentist to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Job Summary

The Dentist will report to the Dental Director and will be responsible for providing safe and high-quality dental care to all patients. This includes administering anesthesia, performing scheduled procedures, and adhering to the highest standards of dental practices, ethics, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality care to all patients, including administering anesthesia and performing scheduled procedures.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of dental practices, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
  • Properly document all procedures performed on patients.
  • Formulate treatment plans for all patients and list them on treatment plan forms.
  • Chart all existing dental work, including missing teeth, decay, pocket depths, and soft tissue changes.
  • Read radiographs and document all observations.
  • Ensure that patient chief complaints are addressed when possible.
  • Refer patients when necessary.
  • Perform hygiene procedures and proficiently perform simple and surgical extractions, crown and bridge, prosthodontics, and basic restoration.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited general practice residency program is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience preferred.
  • Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred.

  • Knowledge of FQHC operations, operating principles, guidelines, and bylaws.
  • Excellent leadership, customer service, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan and organize work initiatives to successfully accomplish center/organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate as appropriate.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify, develop, and implement short- and long-term strategic goals and objectives.
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships; influence, build credibility, and trust.
  • Ability to think critically and apply critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to ensure and advocate for quality healthcare and services; and lead and manage a diverse staff.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Maryland (not applicable to commissioned NHSC/PHS officers).
  • Current CPR (BLS) certifications. ACLS preferred.
  • Current Maryland CDS and DEA registrations.
  • Current Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers.
