Role Summary: Under general supervision, this position entails professional case management responsibilities of moderate complexity, alongside related duties as necessary. This role is pivotal in delivering case management services to children under the State's oversight, those in State custody, or those at risk of such custody, along with their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document information gathered during interviews and prepare reports for legal proceedings.
- Communication: Engage with external parties, including participating in court testimonies and recruiting foster/adoptive parents.
- Conflict Resolution: Address inappropriate behaviors and actions with clients and service providers.
- Information Gathering: Conduct intake interviews regarding suspected child abuse or neglect and gather comprehensive demographic information.
- Scheduling: Maintain flexible working hours, including home visits to assess safety and ongoing interactions with children and families.
- Decision Making: Assess cases for abuse or neglect, recommend reunification or termination of parental rights, and monitor family compatibility.
- Team Collaboration: Facilitate Child and Family Team Meetings to collaboratively develop actionable goals.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain case files, ensure timely correspondence, and adhere to departmental policies.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, along with relevant experience in child welfare services.
Special Requirements: Candidates must complete a criminal history disclosure, provide a fingerprint sample, and possess a valid driver's license.
Competencies: Candidates should demonstrate strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills, alongside the ability to build effective relationships with families and stakeholders.
Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using electronic devices, computers, and motor vehicles is essential for this role.
