Water Resources Specialist

Cash Waggner & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Water Resource Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing water resources infrastructure, including waterways, pipelines, dams, and other related facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and direct field crew activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Consult with project stakeholders and managerial staff to provide guidance on engineering requirements for construction and modifications.
- Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs, plans, and specifications.
- Assess the strength of building materials by testing and analyzing soil and material samples.
- Set design specifications by computing load and grade requirements, material stress factors, and water flow rates.
- Plan projects based on analysis of relevant materials, including drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and survey reports.
- Draft and present reports on project-related topics, such as environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.
- Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure projects progress properly.
- Collaborate with surveyors to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
- Monitor project progress and ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain structures as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering.
- Licensure or ability to become licensed within 1 year of hire.
- Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
- Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analysis software.
- Proficient in HEC-RAS or other simulation software used in computational fluid dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to travel to various project sites. Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
Salary and hourly wages are based on experience.
