We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Endoscopy to join our team at SCA Health. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and safe experience for our patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized perioperative patient plans of care, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Protect patients from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment and machinery, and report any unsafe situations to management.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Administer medications safely and correctly, using the 8 rights of medication administration.
- Implement aseptic technique and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Assess patient status at intervals, and provide nursing care and monitoring in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Perform interventions to maintain patient tissue perfusion, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems, and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting informed decision-making and self-care.
- Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- One year of GI, OR, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standing.
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
- Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
- Successful completion of Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope of services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
- Specialty certification in GI Nursing is preferred.
Minimum: USD $40.00/Hr. Maximum: USD $60.00/Hr.
