Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient rooms and beds for incoming Emergency Room patients
  • Greet patients and prepare them for examination
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respirations
  • Assist with procedures, such as EKGs, catheterizations, and enemas
  • Answer phone calls and place calls to physician offices
  • Scan charts, use fax for information transfer, and enter patient charges
  • Maintain accurate and timely registration with minimal error rate
  • Assist in emergency situations, including CPR and summoning ambulance and paramedics
  • Collect, record, and transport specimens to lab
  • Keep patient rooms clean and report equipment issues
  • Set up and assist with procedures, such as pelvic exams and suturing
  • Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent with related experience and/or training in Medical Assisting, STNA, and/or Emergency Medical Technician
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or EMT preferred
