Hematology Physician

As a member of the Division of Hematology within the Department of Internal Medicine at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, the successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care services in inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will conduct ambulatory clinics, interview patients, and review their medical history to assess their medical needs. They will perform physical examinations, conduct relevant hematology procedures, and order diagnostic testing and other ancillary services as needed. The physician will also respond to consultation requests, develop and implement treatment plans, and educate patients and their families on wellness, prevention, and early detection.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct ambulatory clinics and provide direct patient care services
• Interview patients, review medical history, and perform physical examinations
• Conduct relevant hematology procedures and order diagnostic testing
• Develop and implement treatment plans and educate patients and their families
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities and serve as a preceptor for residents, fellows, and medical students
Requirements:
• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Internal Medicine
• Active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
• Completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine and a fellowship training program in hematology/medical oncology
