Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Medical Assistant Professional to join our team at South Denver OBGYN in Castle Rock. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the success of our clinic.

About the Role:

  • This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced Clinical Support Specialist to work closely with our healthcare professionals in examination and treatment of patients by performing various duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Completes Intake Process: Welcoming patients, preparing them for healthcare visits, obtaining medical history, and verifying patient information.
  2. Documents Vital Signs: Recording accurate and complete sets of vital signs.
  3. Supports Electronic Medical Records (EMRs): Timely and accurately populating all sections of the EMR, including allergies, medications, vaccines, social history, and quality tabs.
  4. Assists Providers: During examinations and treatments, performing point-of-care tests as appropriate to skill level, certifications, and state regulations.
  5. Maintains Supplies: Ensures adequate supplies in storage areas and exam rooms.
  6. Ensures Cleanliness and Safety: Disinfects and cleans treatment rooms after patient examinations, maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  7. Provides Excellent Customer Service: Conducting business in a service-oriented manner, being attentive, cooperative, sensitive, and respectful to all patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  8. Pre-Vist Planning: Responsible for pre-visit planning according to standard operating procedure guidelines.
  9. Log Maintenance: Maintains all required logs and checks, such as refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.
  10. Communication: Responsible for checking and addressing voicemails multiple times during the working day and addressing inbox messages in the EMR for providers, provider staff, and self.
  11. Back-Up Front Office Duties: Assists with check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, and answering phones when needed.
  12. Relationship Building: Maintains professional relationships with vendors that support the practice.
  13. Confidentiality and Compliance: Follows HIPAA guidelines for all internal and external systems.

  • Accurate maintenance of medical records for patients and providers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited healthcare program (e.g., Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT, or equivalent work experience).
  • Maintain certifications per state guidelines.
  • Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills required; EMR experience preferred.
  • Some MA experience required.
  • Current BLS card.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics.
  • Athenahealth practice management system.

Salary: $20 - $26 / hour. The estimate represents the typical salary range of candidates hired, considering specific skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in this role.
