Job Summary:

EveryStep is seeking a compassionate and skilled Home Health Aide to provide personal care services to clients in their residences. As a Home Health Aide, you will be responsible for observing clients, reporting observations, and documenting services provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform activities of daily living (ADL) to include personal care and bathing according to the care plan.
• Take and record vitals when ordered.
• Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the care plan.
• Complete visit records in a timely manner as per EveryStep policy.
• Meet the safety needs of clients and use equipment safely and properly.
• Report client condition and significant changes to the Home Health RN.

Requirements:

• Successfully complete a state-established or other training program that meets the Medicaid Conditions of Participation and a competency evaluation.
• Must complete/pass competency skills testing.
• Current Mandatory reporter or within 6 months of employment.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
• Mature, responsible behavior that includes a thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of the characteristics of elderly, handicapped, or convalescing individuals.
• Demonstrates empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.
• Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to follow and accurately report verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Flexibility and cooperation in fulfilling role obligations.
• Must have valid driver's license, auto liability insurance, and reliable transportation if driving is required.
• Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, 2-step TB test, and background check.

Working Conditions:

• Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Hazards (chemicals, infectious diseases), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases).
• Ability to be flexible with a varying schedule and programmatic requirements.
• Required between locations.
