Job Title: Dietitian

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian to join our team at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing dietary programs and services that meet the nutritional needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop dietary programs and services that meet the nutritional needs of residents
  • Coordinate dietary services with other departments, including nursing, housekeeping, and social services
  • Inspect food storage rooms and utility closets to ensure cleanliness and supply control
  • Review and develop plans of correction for dietary service deficiencies
  • Assist in planning the dietary services portion of resident discharge plans
  • Participate in facility surveys and inspections
  • Interview residents and family members to obtain diet history
  • Participate in maintaining records of resident food likes and dislikes
  • Assist in developing methods for determining quality and quantity of food served
  • Assist in planning regular and special diet menus
  • Review therapeutic and regular diet plans and menus to ensure compliance with physician orders
  • Meet with administration, medical, and nursing staff to plan food service programs and activities
  • Ensure dietary service work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Dietitian and/or Administrator
  • Place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary
  • Ensure stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment are maintained at adequate levels
  • Assist in interviewing food supply vendors
  • Develop a written dietary plan of care that identifies resident dietary problems/needs and goals to be accomplished

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in nutrition and dietary services, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality when dealing with resident information.
