Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Humane USA. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable infrastructure and processes to support our mission to reimagine computing.
Our team operates as software engineers with a focus on building concrete, reliable, and self-service infrastructure. We are looking for someone who is passionate about cloud technologies, software development, and operations, and has a strong understanding of building systems at scale on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
Key Responsibilities- Architect and build mission-critical infrastructure for internal and external customers using Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Leverage expertise in cloud technologies, software development, and operations to define and implement impact-focused strategies and roadmaps.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure that the platform meets the goals of the broader organization.
- Manage vendors, licensing, and contracts related to cloud technologies.
- Collaborate with software developers to ensure the implementation of best practices for security, observability, resiliency, and disaster recovery.
- Unlock and increase engineering velocity and safety through repeatable processes, automation, and best practices of various cloud platforms.
- Participate in a production on-call support rotation for Infrastructure-related services.
- Provide guidance on best practices for Incident Management.
- 5+ years of Production Engineering, SRE, or similar experience.
- Strong understanding of building systems at scale on cloud platforms.
- Expertise in virtualization, containerization, networking, and security.
- Experience with current CI/CD systems and observability platforms.
- Strong fluency in Python and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- Solid understanding of cloud security tooling.
- Experience in writing and debugging Kubernetes operators.
- Experience in embedding with other software development teams to ensure new services are production-ready.
- Experience running Hashicorp Vault at scale.
- Experience using ArgoCD to deploy workloads to Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience running multi-region workloads.
