We are seeking a dedicated Senior Weapon Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in enhancing the Air Force's hypersonic strike technologies. This position requires a blend of analytical prowess and technical expertise in weapon systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive studies to define weapon system concepts and evaluate their performance.
- Establish system requirements and analyze overall system effectiveness.
- Utilize modeling, simulation, and analytical methods to assess new technologies for strike warfare applications.
- Document engineering analyses, prepare detailed reports and presentations, and outline material requirements for stakeholders.
- Develop processes and artifacts for systems engineering, integration, testing, and evaluation.
- Serve as a direct technical liaison to government sponsors, principal investigators, and project management teams.
- Lead and engage in engineering team discussions and overall technical development initiatives.
- Collaborate with industry, academic, and government laboratory personnel to explore the application of innovative technologies in advanced weapon systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in weapon systems development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with government representatives.
- Willingness to travel for customer presentations, technical consultations during system development, and support for laboratory or field testing.
- Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Fifteen years of professional experience in weapon systems development and acquisition.
- Familiarity with digital engineering processes and tools.
- Understanding of military warfare systems, including aircraft, weapons, sensors, and mission planning applications.
- Knowledge of DoD planning, programming, budgeting, and acquisition systems.
- Proven ability to effectively interface with government sponsors and hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
