Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at EnovaPremier, you will be responsible for managing the start-up of new tire and wheel assembly plants from inception to completion. This includes implementing new capital equipment projects generated by engineering changes or process improvements. You will also be responsible for remaining current on available technologies related to tire and wheel assembly and automated equipment. Onsite and remote assistance in designing, installing, and launching equipment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Interact with customers and suppliers to understand customer requirements and specifications.
Specify equipment and layouts for new operating facilities, engineering changes, or process improvements that meet customer requirements and internal cost targets.
Manage the purchasing, build, installation, and launch of capital equipment projects.
Engage in problem-solving activities with the EnovaPremier team, customers, and suppliers.
Ensure equipment meets all processing requirements prior to starting it in production.
Ensure new equipment follows OSHA and EnovaPremier regulations and programs and maintains an acceptable level of performance against accidents.
Create, implement, and maintain EnovaPremier equipment and controls standards for new equipment.
Implement and maintain remote access via software to all plants for all engineering staff members.
Improve the troubleshooting capability of maintenance technicians and plant staff, including training and implementing visual fault displays and monitoring systems.
Review and monitor PLC changes in all facilities for safe and proper implementation into the process.
Lead or assist in controls changes for modifications to equipment due to part changes, process changes, or improvement activity.
Assist with training in PLC/Servo/VFD training to the company's technical staff.
Assist in specifying new equipment in the controls area.
Readily participate in engineering's rapid response support to plants needing assistance.
Participate in Engineering hotline rotation.
Cross-train and learn Ignition (MES).
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
Industrial experience of at least 5 years, preferably in the auto industry with tire/wheel manufacturing or assembly.
Experience related to equipment, including installation, design, and manufacture.
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting is required.
Experience with servo controllers and human interfaces preferred.
Project management in automated equipment is preferred.
