Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the meticulous processing of specimens, ensuring their identification and integrity through preanalytical inspections. This role involves conducting a variety of laboratory tests on patient samples, assessing test outcomes, and accurately reporting and verifying results within the Laboratory Information System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough specimen processing and preanalytical evaluations.
- Perform a range of laboratory tests, analyze results, and document findings in the Laboratory Information System.
- Execute and assess routine quality control measures in accordance with established policies.
- Review and assess new or modified procedures, reagents, and instruments as directed.
- Address instrument troubleshooting as instructed.
- Engage in departmental initiatives and contribute to the goals set by laboratory leadership.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a laboratory setting.
Certification Requirements:
Must possess National Medical Technician Certification (ASCP/AMT/AAB).
