Position Overview:

Peraton is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to enhance our Cyber Mission business unit.

This role involves supporting a significant enterprise-wide engineering initiative within the Intelligence Community.

This is a full-time opportunity requiring 1880 hours of annual support, primarily conducted at our National Business Parkway office.

Key Responsibilities:

The ISSO will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the development and enforcement of information assurance policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Maintaining the operational security posture of information systems to ensure compliance with established security policies.
  • Evaluating security solutions to confirm they meet the requirements for handling classified information.
  • Conducting vulnerability and risk assessments to support certification and accreditation processes.
  • Preparing and reviewing essential documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP) and Risk Assessment Reports.
  • Supporting security authorization activities in alignment with customer certification and accreditation processes.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in at least three of the following areas: security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, and encryption techniques.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 standards for Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience with NISCAP and DIACAP processes.
  • Ability to serve as the approval authority for Information Systems.
  • Experience as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Proficiency in planning and coordinating IT Security Programs and Policies.
  • Knowledge of compliance and risk regulations.
  • Experience in building System Security Plans (SSPs) and completing System Certification and Accreditation.
  • Familiarity with customer infrastructure and the ability to work flexible hours.

This position requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Selected applicants will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
