Job Title: Progressive Care Unit RN Travel Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Travel Nurse. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The PCU Travel Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care to patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment. This includes utilizing computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detecting any changes and enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays
  • Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
Requirements:
  • 2 years of recent acute care experience
  • ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and move or lift patients up to 50 pounds at times
