Voith Paper is seeking to fill the position of:

Field Operations Service Technician

Salary Range: $65,000 to $80,000 annually based on qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a secure working environment in the field, enhancing safety awareness among all Field Service Technicians.
  • Execute tasks, both supervised and independently, at customer facilities.
  • Collaborate with client personnel to plan onsite activities.
  • Organize and coordinate sales outreach to both new and existing clients.
  • Work alongside the Voith Sales Team to identify business opportunities.
  • Deliver effective solutions to customer challenges.
  • Engage in discussions related to installations, whether in-house or at client locations.
  • Take primary responsibility for the installation of fiber systems equipment and components.
  • Prepare and manage tools and parts necessary for field service operations.
  • Conduct follow-up visits to address any outstanding tasks and ensure final acceptance by the client.
  • Continuously seek enhancements in materials, methods, and tools required for field service and repair tasks.
  • Complete accurate service reports, time records, and expense documentation as needed.
  • Participate in meetings with management, colleagues, and/or clients.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within North America, with occasional international travel required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including providing in-house technical support for clients.
Candidate Profile
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in disc filter maintenance.
  • At least 2 years' experience in industrial sales, preferably in the paper sector.
  • Proficient in installation work within the paper industry, with a willingness to learn about various fiber system equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and foundational knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and controls.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, control schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong customer relations abilities.
  • Capability to work independently without daily supervision.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Experience in construction within the paper or similar industries.
  • Exceptional customer relations skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring results are achieved.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% to client sites across the United States.
