The Pharmacy Director is a key leadership position within the Saint Joseph Health System, responsible for overseeing the 24-hour operation of the Pharmacy Department across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate new pharmaceutical drugs, supplies, and equipment, and prepare written reports for senior Hospital management detailing findings.
- Make recommendations for acquisition of new or additional pharmacy equipment and supplies.
- Responsible for achieving established financial budget outcomes.
- Develop and maintain a quality control program, ensuring department functions in accordance with all Hospital standards, government and accrediting agency regulations.
- Select, develop, and maintain a team of competent staff.
- Hold self and team accountable for achieving the highest level of quality of care, customer service, and employee satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or successful completion of the foreign pharmacy equivalency exam.
- Residency, PharmD or Master's degree in Pharmacy or Management preferred.
- Current Licensure as a Pharmacist by the State(s) of Indiana as required to complete essential job functions.
- Must have a proficiency in the practice of pharmacy with an emphasis in supervisory/managerial skills, pharmacokinetic monitoring, nutritional consults, and drug information services.
- 5+ years progressive hospital pharmacy leadership experience is required.
