Critical Illness Recovery Hospital Physical Therapist (PT) - Join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals at Select Specialty Hospital - Milwaukee - St Francis, where we provide exceptional patient care and promote healing and recovery in a compassionate environment.
Responsibilities- Assist patients and their families in coping with the unpredictability of illness within the context of the hospital environment.
- Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
- Promote continuous quality improvement.
- Teach and counsel patients/families.
- Set goals and develop treatment plans.
- Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
- Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as supervise PT and PTA students.
- Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
- Monitor patients response to treatment and modifying treatment during sessions, as needed.
- Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
- Demonstrate an understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each patient feels informed and understood, as well as heard.
- Passionate about providing superior quality care and inventive problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment.
- Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure or eligibility for a license in Physical Therapy.
- Current State licensure (or eligibility for State licensure) required.
- Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
- Extensive and thorough orientation program.
